here i am with my family…my name is maria and i am a wife and mother of two loving, fun-filled, energetic girls who have taught me to appreciate, relish and capture each moment…camera on hand.

as much as i’ve been able to document our daily lives through my camera, there were so many important occasions, like birthdays and showers, when i failed to take a moment to shoot because i was too busy running around hosting the party.  it wasn’t until one of my best friends, who happens to be a successful photographer, blessed me with the gift of photos from one of my daughter’s birthday parties.  after ensuring my daughter would still be thrilled with her chosen theme, i spent weeks planning, coordinating, cutting, pasting, and baking and was so glad someone was able to document all the finished work and the biggest smiles i had ever seen from her and her friends!  it was the best birthday gift EVER!

with that sentimental feeling, i decided every parent should know that photography for their parties is a necessity as a time capsule of what that special party was like-the decorations, food, guests, activities, birthday cake and presents.  all so important, but easily forgotten to photograph.

after all, what good is all the preparation and entertaining when you can’t have your cake and eat it, too?
