this is my special area dedicated to my family and closest friends.

you see…i really need to be better at taking photos of the people around me who are closest to my heart.  i really need to always have my camera on me instead of using the excuse “my 15-month old isn’t yet a walker and constantly tries to swat the camera from my hands.”  however, now she wants the camera pointing to her and says “cheese” with a perfect little smile.  sometimes the blurriness turns out beautifully, but most of the time it looks like my subject was coming at me at lightning speeds.  not the effect i was shooting for, but hey, she really needed my attention.

this whole idea for this section started because i failed.  i failed not only as a photographer, but as a mommy.  i attended my daughter’s first  year-end variety show without even thinking of charging my batteries to my little camera or bringing my big one.  what was i thinking?!

well, to be honest, i selfishly wanted to sit and enjoy watching her during her show.  i didn’t want to be behind the camera adjusting my focus or zooming in while she proudly sang and waved during her performance.  i can’t even describe to you how amazing it was that she would look back at me with this incredible, glowing sense of accomplishment washed over her.  we looked eye to eye and she knew it.  and i was very proud.  (and, in the end, i was fine that i didn’t bring my cameras.)

to make it up to her later that i won’t have our own photos of her taken that morning, i let her be in control of the camera remote for our “photo shoot” below.  we got some good ones and it was fun!

so this is where i hope to share crazy moments with the people i love…
